“The perfect endurance race” is how this length of event is described by many in the sport of Triathlon, yet it is a demanding endurance event for the part time athlete as well as the elite in this sport. The race starts with a 2km swim, as the first of the three disciplines, that need to be completed. Next is the cycle leg that covers 80kms, more than enough to stiffen the legs and tire you out. This is then followed by an almost half marathon run of 20 km. This event is not for the faint hearted, as it takes determination and true grit to complete. For most it becomes a personal test of mental toughness and inner strength. Training for three different sports in one event, completed in one day, is an achievement that needs to be recognised and celebrated.

Description

The Jervis Bay LCW (Long Course Weekend) is truly a unique format in Australia. Being able to pick the distance for each leg of your triathlon over three days has us all second guessing what length we would choose.
Being in Jervis Bay, a practically unspoiled area of the east coast, it is not hard to understand how an organiser would use this as a backdrop to such an event.

If you have competed in this event, you will want some type of memento of the time you spent in this spectacular location
